Paul “Ryker” Lawson, a biker and an Engineer, had travelled severally within the West African sub region and noticed the plight of many children on the streets. He had a desire to help. He had a dream of an African Biker Nation rallying together in the support of less privileged children The concept of Ryker’s Ride was formed as a Biker fundraising and awareness ride that unites the African Biker Nation to support children’s charities and highlight the educational needs of the less privileged child.
The First Ryker’s Ride for Children across Boarders charity ride has come and gone and plans are on to for the 2016 ride. Ryker’s ride Beyond Borders, heading out September 2016 promises to be a charity Adventure of life changing proportions. The group of riders on Ryker’s ride 2016 is made up of several like-minded professionals who love motorcycling and motorcycles and want to make a difference in our society.
Our objective and purpose is to leverage on our numbers and achieve collective goodwill and support with the primary purpose of raising awareness, support and funds for orphaned, abandoned and street children in Africa.
We have been helping children in Nigeria since the 1970s. Despite Nigeria being oil-rich, hundreds of thousands live in crippling poverty. Crime and HIV/AIDS are on the increase. We help vulnerable children to stay with their families, and where necessary give them a loving home in one of our SOS Children’s Villages.
